MS Points no longer awarded from August 1 – new scheme to be announced September 1.
"Starting August 1, 2013, you will not be able to earn Microsoft Points through Xbox Live Rewards any longer," explains a notice on Xbox Live Rewards. "Not to worry, though! | Microsoft's New Dashboard Beta Eliminates Microsoft Points But Raises Prices [Update]

[Update] In a statment to GamesBeat, Microsoft has noticed this error and is working to reimburse any beta participants the difference between the correct and incorrect price. Luckily, this is a part of why they use beta programs. Of course, this is an obvious kink that could have been ironed out before the beta program became live. But at least it seems as though they're not raising prices.

| News: GRID 2 Drift Pack DLC races onto Xbox LIVE, PSN PC

Four new cars for under a fiver.
The 'Drift Pack' includes the Daijiro Yoshihara Nissan 240sx, Team Orange Mitsubishi Evo x, Chevrolet 'Tyler McQuarrie' Camaro, and NOS Energy Nissan 370Z for use in the game's single-player and multiplayer, and will set you back 480 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE, and £3.99 on PSN and PC.
Unfortunately, there are no additional tracks, challenges or races included in the DLC, so if you're expecting something a little more than cars, you're bang(er) out of luck.
Still, there's a possibility of more exciting releases to come.

| News: Xbox LIVE game prices to increase with new dashboard update, reports claim

Games that used to cost 800 MS Points (£6.80) now cost £8.99, beta testers report.
The new dashboard replaces Microsoft Points with local currency pricing, and converts all current MS Points balances to the user's currency.
But this appears to have resulted in some mismatched pricing, with prices appearing higher after the conversion.
A 4200 Microsoft Points card currently costs £33 at GAME, and is converted to £35.70 on the beta Xbox 360 update. This sounds like a pretty good deal, especially if you've managed to secure some points below the regular price.
However, there are widespread reports that game and DLC pricing has increased -...

| Microsoft's New Dashboard Beta Eliminates Microsoft Points But Raises Prices

Microsoft's new Dashboard Beta is rolling out and, according to user Gowans on NeoGAF, the new Dashboard nixes the Microsoft Points scheme entirely in favor of prices based on real-world currencies. The catch? Prices have been increased, or as it has been aptly named, a "stealth raise" has occurred:
400 points (pound;3.40) games are now pound;4.49
800 points (pound;6.80) games are now pound;8.99
1200 points (pound;10.40) games are now pound;11.99
1600 points (pound;13.60) games are now at pound;14.99
